Looking for a place to stay in Dallas? You’re in luck. Big D already boasts some of the finest luxury hotels in the nation. The Ritz-Carlton just opened a property in stylish Uptown with 218 spacious rooms and suites. The hotel is home to Dean Fearing’s new namesake restaurant, so you can sample some of the chef’s famed Southwest cuisine before relaxing in the singular Texas ambiance of the Rattlesnake Bar.
Just up the street is the W Hotel, which opened its doors in 2006. The 252-room hotel overlooks the new Victory Park development near downtown. Catch the Dallas Stars on ice or a Dallas Mavericks’ home game at American Airlines Center, or hang out at the W’s rooftop Ghostbar or one of the many high-concept restaurants in the area. If you prefer even hipper lodgings, there’s the Hotel Zaza, a boutique hotel that is often the site of celebrity sightings. The newly opened Hotel Palomar is another upscale urban choice.
Meanwhile the grand dame of Dallas hotels, the Mansion at Turtle Creek, will soon be undergoing a $20 million renovation as it tries to keep its spot as Dallas’ only five-star, five diamond hotel. The nearby Hotel Crescent Court also recently got a facelift, and the historic Stoneleigh is slated to re-open as a high-end luxury property at the end of 2007. The Fairmont and Adolphus hotels are first-rate options in the heart of downtown.
But the best may be yet to come. The ultra-luxurious Mandarin Oriental Dallas is slated to open in 2010 With 90 residential condos in addition to 150 all-suite rooms, you may come to Dallas for a night and decide to stick around for a lifetime.
